Project description
The pilot project will be carried out on an 11-hectare site (110,000 m2) and will be duplicated in the 10 regions of Cameroon.
It is designed according to the eco-neighbourhood model with a zero carbon emission objective.
Building technology :
- Use of low-carbon materials (double-sided steel wire reinforced polystyrene panels produced in the factory, with cement mortar coating on site) with considerable reduction of construction waste,
- Use of renewable or clean energy (mini hydro, photovoltaic, bio mass and or biogas depending on opportunities on site)
- Installation of charging stations for electric vehicles
- Wastewater treatment,
- Rainwater harvesting, storage and use,
- Collection and sorting of organic and other waste for treatment
Project components
- Student accommodation: 1260 beds including 244 single rooms and 507 double rooms
- Housing Apartment: 700 flats
- Residential hotel: 150 rooms and suites.
- Commercial complex,
- A multifunctional hall with a capacity of 600 to 750 seats, which can be used as a university restaurant, banqueting hall and recreation hall,
- A covered car park with 500 spaces and an uncovered one with 600 spaces
- An amusement park with esplanade and play areas 10,000 m2
- Pedestrian and bicycle zones.
- A multi-sport playground.
- A green and colourful landscaped area making the whole city pleasant to live in.
- Estimated population: 5 to 6000 people will live permanently on the site
